Highest number of Corona virus positive cases from Royapuram zone in Chennai now

Located In northern part of Chennai, Royapuram is an important residential locality with dense population. Royapuram zone is now making news for wrong reasons. This zone has reported as many as 20 Corona virus positive cases till now.
On Sunday, 5th April 2020, Chennai city had 80 Covid-19 positive cases and it took the number of cases to 500 mark. As many as 82 cases were reported on Sunday and every zone had atleast 1 positive case. This was according to the data of Chennai Corporation.
Information is Anna Nagar zone and Kodambakkam zone reported 12 Corona virus positive cases each and Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar and Teynampet zones reported as many as 11 cases each.
In the last week, Royapuram zone had reported nearly 10 positive cases and Kodambakkam zone reported 6 such cases are known. At present, the numbers have increased in Royapuram zones with 20 persons testing positive for Covid-19. This is now the highest among the 15 zones belonging to Corporation of Chennai.
The containment drive has been started and civic body in association with the police personnel have sealed the streets surrounding the residents of the affected persons. The staffs belonging to the civic body are now involved in door-to-door survey to identify those with Covid-19 symptoms.
