The Tamil Nadu State Department of School Education has announced that as the lockdown imposition has been extended up to 30th April, the Public Examination for 10th Standards is being postponed.
The Public Examinations for the +2 students commenced in Tamil Nadu on 2nd March and concluded on 24th March.
Subsequently, the Public Examinations for +1 students commenced and were in progress as 3 examinations were scheduled for 26th March. However, the lockdown was imposed on 25th March. Hence, it was announced that this will be conducted at a later date.
Following this, the 10th Standard Public Examinations, which were scheduled to start on 27th March, were also postponed!
Earlier, as the lockdown was supposed to conclude on 14th April, the state government had announced that the 10th Standard Public Examinations will commence after 15th April. The Department had even prepared the revised timetable for this.
Meanwhile, with the severity of the coronavirus situation continuing, the lockdown has been extended until 30th April. So, the 10th Standard Public Examinations remain postponed. The department has announced:
“Please note that these Public Examinations are ONLY POSTPONED AND NOT CANCELLED! The students will have to be prepared for the examinations until the next announcement is made!”
