Studying online at homes made possible by TN governments free laptop scheme

The schools have been closed in the state of Tamil Nadu due to lock down now and the students are staying in their homes.

In TN, the free lap top scheme for the school students has been tremendous and as a result many students are getting benefit now from the free laptop scheme in TN. In TN, the students have been studying from their homes through online now.

Important information that has come out now is the teachers in the government schools were able to get in touch with the students through laptops having superb internet facilities.

It is known that Special Programme Implementation Department monitors the laptop scheme. In 2019-20, laptops were given to more than 1.5 lakhs class 11 students belonging to the government as well as government aided schools. This was as per the statistics. As many as 20,000 first year students studying government and government aided polytechnic colleges have received free laptops.

In the previous financial year, more than 30,000 teachers from the state run higher secondary schools have benefited from this free lap top scheme. This was according to the school education department.

It was later brought out by a class 11 science group student from Chromepet government school that Chemistry examination was pending. He added that he and his classmates were able to complete the portions using laptops with the help from class teacher. 

A student from Pallavaram government school revealed that she and her class-mates doubts were cleared immediately by means of e-lecture through emails. She then explained about how student related duties like updating data in the EMIS assigned by the government to work from home have been done using the laptops issued by the TN government.

Arrangements were made with hardware companies for annual maintenance contract so that the students could go on with their studies without issues.
