Coronavirus Tamil Nadu: 49 more persons affected; 82 recovers on a single day!

The Minister for Health in the State Government of Tamil Nadu, Vijayabhaskar informed that 49 more persons were confirmed with coronavirus infection raising the total to 1,372.

The raging coronavirus pandemic has spread far, fast, and wide all over the world, affecting 209 countries with increasing the count of 21,78,149. People are under severe panic!

Meanwhile, as a preventive measure against the spreading of coronavirus, lockdown conditions had been imposed until 14th April. However, as the impact of the virus kept increasing, the central government has extended the lockdown situation until 3rd May.

In this scenario, the number of people affected with coronavirus infection has been increasing with each passing day! The Central Health Ministry has informed that the total number of coronavirus affected persons in India is 15,536!

So far, 519 lives have been lost due to this virus in India. It has affected Tamil Nadu as well in a severe way. In this situation, the Tamil Nadu State Health Minister Vijayabhaskar has informed that 49 more persons have been confirmed with the infection. The Health Minister shared:
  • As compared even to the developed countries, the prevention and relief activities are better managed in India, and especially, the state of Tamil Nadu.
  • Just on a single today (Saturday, 18th April), 82 persons have recovered and were discharged from the hospital. 
  • The percentage (%) of lives lost due to the coronavirus pandemic is just 1.1% in Tamil Nadu.
  • The State Government has increased the testing facility by increasing the facilities in the test laboratories.
  • In Tamil Nadu, the virus is prevalent only in controlled and marked areas.
  • Permission has been obtained to set up 3 more testing laboratories. Totally, 31 laboratories are functioning.
  • In Tamil Nadu, on a single day today (18th April), 5,263 persons have undergone testing. So far, 35,036 samples have been tested.
  • There was no loss of life reported today (18th April). So far, 15 persons have died.
  • Tamil Nadu is the state with the maximum number of testing laboratories in the country!
  • The State Government has procured the Rapid Test Kits at the same price as fixed by the central government!
