The raging coronavirus pandemic has been spreading fast, far, and wide all over the world over the last few months! It has affected India as well! As a preventive measure against the spreading of the coronavirus, the central government has imposed lockdown conditions throughout the country until 3rd May.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been in touch with the public through his Radio Programme, ‘Man Ki Baat’ on the last Sunday of every month.

In this respect, today (Sunday, 26th April), is the last Sunday of April, the Prime Minister will be addressing the public for the 2nd time under lockdown conditions.

The Prime Minister, during his Man Ki Baat, shared the following:

“The contribution of the Police Department has been praiseworthy. My and the country’s big salute to all the fighters of coronavirus! India has been providing help to the other countries on this issue.

My sincere thanks are due to fort he excellent cooperation extended by the public in the activities preventing the spreading of the raging coronavirus pandemic.

This fight against coronavirus is by the public! Each citizen has been fighting like a soldier! In the country’s war against coronavirus, every citizen has participated.

India stands united in the fight against coronavirus. During the lockdown condition, even citizens from the remote corners of the country have come forward to offer their help!

This raging coronavirus has given us the opportunity for us to realize what is happening around us! With the whole-hearted cooperation of the citizens, the government agencies are jointly fighting against the raging coronavirus pandemic.

I am supremely confident that the fight by the citizens will win! Both the central and state governments are jointly extending all the relief and help needed by the citizens at these times!

I sincerely appreciate the efforts of all the state governments in this regard! Each department of the central government has been functioning 24-hours-a-day to assist the public!

The service rendered by the Health department workers is being appreciated all over! The attacks perpetrated against the medical personnel are condemnable indeed! Those who attacked medical personnel CANNOT ESCAPE from the clutches of Law!

An Emergency Act has been passed with a view to protecting the health Department workers. Any attack on medical personnel - doctors, nurses, other medical staff - will entail stringent legal action!

On a single day, 1900 persons have been confirmed with coronavirus infection in India. Each person has been contributing whatever best they can offer!

We realize the importance of the services of auto-drivers and rickshaw-men with the present times! It is unfortunate to give up our traditional medical systems. In this respect, we are not aware of our own strength!

Even a small speck of fire should not be left! THE FIRE MUST BE QUENCHED ENTIRELY!

The public has started realizing the dangers/risks of spitting in public places. Thus, the time has come now to get rid of this undesirable habit! So, WE MUST GIVE UP THIS HABIT OF SPITTINGIN PUBLIC PLACES!

We have to strive even harder to confirm our win against the coronavirus pandemic! I am confident that with the citizens following local administration’s orders to strengthen our fight!

I will address you in the next time beginning with the great news that the world is at last completely free from the coronavirus pandemic!”
