More rains likely in the coming days in Chennai

The residents belonging to the city of Chennai got pleasant surprise by the rains on Sunday. The heat has resulted in the convergence of winds and clouds and it is now revealed that in the coming days Chennai is likely to get more rains. Point is in Chennai the remaining of the lock down period is likely to be cloudy or wet.

The condition of the sky is likely to be cloudy and rains or thunder showers would occur in few places. It must be taken into note that the maximum temperature and the minimum temperature are likely to be 31 degrees and 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

On Sunday morning, Chennai and its suburbs received heavy rains and parts of Kancheepuram, Chengalpet and Tiruvallur got showers too. Beginning at around 5 am in the morning, rains lashed Chennai for hour. Important information is Nungambakkam got 13.2 mm rains and Meenambakkam got 8.5 mm rains. The mercury that was hovering around 35 degrees Celsius in the last few days came down to 31 degrees on Sunday. On 9th April, Chennai received heavy rains is known. The rains on Sunday made the day cloudy and pleasant.

According to the officials belonging to the meteorological department, the rain was because of the convective action triggered due to cloud formation. Weather systems are formed in the northeast monsoon period and these weather systems helps in triggering the rains. The official explained about how this was totally different from the summer rains.

Till 30th April 2020, there would be chances of rains in Chennai and this was as per Mr. Pradeep John, private weather blogger. He then mentioned about how there is likely to be heavy thunderbolts on 29th April morning in places in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and coastal TN. He concluded that this is like northeast monsoon rains with clouds coming from the sea.
