GCC Explains: How to discard the used face masks?

The Greater Chennai Corporation has strongly emphasized that the public MUST NOT THROW THE USED FACE MASK especially as there are strong prospects of germs present in the used face masks!
The State Government Health Department Officials have informed that washing hands with soap is essential after throwing away the used face mask! The cloth face masks must be washed after each use and dried in the sun.
It is further stated that the used N95 face masks must be packed in airtight bags and removed.
The normal face mask must be folded inside and wrapped in the paper while disposing of.
