State transport corporation buses that run between the tense regions due to PMK protests will now be driven by drivers wearing helmets. The decision was taken following several instances of people pelting stones at the buses.
‘Government transport corporations operating buses in trouble-prone regions; including Villupuram, Salem, Tindivanam, Cuddalore, Panruti,Ariyalur, Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, Arni and Sholingur; were provided with safety gear’, say officials.
