After a time of 2 months, Chennai based electronic hub, Ritchie Street was opened on Tuesday.
It must be noted that many people went to this Ritchie Street yesterday to have a glimpse of 40 percent shops of 2000 shops that were opened. Alternate shops were only opened and this was done for the purpose of maintain social distancing.
Important information collected is the shops have been pasted with red and green labels. Shops with red labels would be opened on Monday, Wednesday and Friday whereas shops with green labels would open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
As per Mr. Chandalia, secretary of Chennai Electronics and Infotech Traders Association, Ritchie Street, permission has been given to open the electronics shops from 25th May itself. As Ramzan fell on that day there were not many customers. The shop owners did many works like cleaning, disinfecting and stock arranging etc.
All the entrances to this Ritchie Street were barricaded as a precautionary step and the customers parked their vehicles on the Anna Salai. It is worthy to note that 2 parking options are available for the customers to park their vehicles. Option one is paid parking inside Casino theatre and free parking at the ground close to F1 police station.
