The Central Home Minister Amit Shah undertook a review/conultation session with the Chief Ministers of states regarding whether to extend the lockdown imposition or to withdraw at the end of its 4th Phase.
As a preventive measure against the spreading of the raging coronavirus pandemic, the central and state governments imposed lockdown conditions throughout the country in 4 phases, commencing from 25th March. Now, the 4th Phase is concluding on 31st May.
Though the lockdown had continued in 4 phases, considering the economy, certain relaxations were announced in the subsequent phases of lockdown to enable resumption of all industries and economy-related activities. The lockdown is still continuing, from 7.00 PM to 7.00 AM.
The 4th Phase of lockdown is set to conclude on 31st May. As such, the central Home Minister Amit Shah got in touch with all the states Chief Ministers through phone and ascertained the views of the Chief Ministers of states.
It is learnt that the central government will decide regarding the lockdown in 1 or 2 days based on the above review.
It is gathered that lockdown conditions might continue in the zones where the impact/intensity of the raging coronavirus pandemic has been quite high. As such, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmadabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Thane, Jaipur, Surat, ad Indore are the cities where the impact has been maximum and still spreading!
Information is out that the lockdown condition may be extended for another 15 days in the above places.
It is also learnt that while extending the lockdown, various further relaxations will also be announced for the recovery of the economy! However, the ban on the resumption of schools, colleges, worship places, cinema theatres, public meetings, etc., will continue until the impact of the raging coronavirus is fully brought under control!
