The officials of the concerned circles inform that review/consultation meetings are being conducted regarding the reopening of TASMAC shops, especially in the background news of raging coronavirus pandemic spreading fast in the Chennai Metro City each passing day!
After the relaxations were announced following the imposition of the 4th Phase of the lockdown imposition. Around 3700 TASMAC shops were opened throughout Tamil Nadu except for Chennai Metro City n7th May.
However, with coronavirus still raging, the ban has been imposed on TASMAC shops, Autos and hair-dressing salons in the Chennai Metro City.
Presently, the TASMAC circles inform that the state government of Tamil Nadu is engaged currently in discussions/consultation as to when to reopen the TASMAC shops in the Chennai Metro City.
The circles inform:
There are 800 TASMAC shops in Chennai Metro City. A daily revenue of Rs. 30 Crores to Rs. 50 Crores is earned through these TASMAC shops in the Chennai Metro City. As the TASMAC shops have remained closed due to the present lockdown imposition, the business of liquour sales has stagnated! So, full-fledged reviews are being conducted regarding the reopening of the TASMAC shops in the Chennai Metro City with stringent restrictions!
It is also being reviewed about issuing new conditions regarding adherence to marinating the social distancing! As a precautionary activity in this regard, TASMAC officials have been instructed to set up wooden barriers in front of the TASMAC shop, spraying of disinfectants, etc.
Accordingly, the officials informed that there are bright prospects of the TASMAC shops being reopened in June!
