Greater Chennai Corporation sets up online classes for its school students!

At present, 10th and 12th Standard students studying in schools under the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) have been given smartphones and online classes are being conducted for them!
Here is a brief on the efforts undertaken by the Greater Chennai Corporation in this regard:
With all schools presently closed as a preventive measure against the raging coronavirus pandemic, right now in Phase-5, the private schools have started conducting online classes for their students!
In this situation, considering the main aspect that the academic career of the students set to enter the 10th and 12th Standards must not be blocked, GCC decided to commence online teaching sessions.
Accordingly, for the 5000+ students studying in the GCC High Schools, free smartphones have been given the courtesy of a volunteer organization.
Further, a special time-table has been laid out for the online classes on various subjects for the respective teachers to conduct cases. So, at present, the students in GCC schools are happily and eagerly attending and learning in the online classes!
In this scenario, for its next phase of activity, video-recording has been made of the classes conducted by teachers from a popular Chennai Triplicane School and these recordings have been uploaded in the youtube Website, known as ‘GCC Education’!
With this, the students can watch and learn from these video classes at their own convenient times and playing them again until understood!
The students of the Greater Chennai Corporation Schools observe that the system of online classes through smartphones is modern and simple.
At this development, all of us need to appreciate the efforts of Greater Chennai Corporation which have gone ahead to join the future trend as an excellent step!
