IIT – M courses fare well in international ranking system

Indian Institute of Technology Madras has been ranked among the top 150 in the QS World University Rankings by Subject. The rankings are finalized by the QS intelligence Unit (QSIU) which is a division of international higher education data research firm Quacquarelli Symonds.  A total of 2858 universities were evaluated.

IIT - M’s Civil and Structural Engineering course has been ranked 46. Between 51 and 100 are the Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering and between 101 and 150 are courses from the Computer Science and Information Systems Department, Materials Science Department and Mathematics Department.

"It is a result of intensifying research, increasing faculty recruitment, increasing output and funding for research. We are moving in the right direction”, said IIT – M Director Bhaskar Ramamurthi.
