Fresh Coronavirus case in V.R. Pillai Street in Triplicane is creating fears for many residents

V.R. Pillai Street belonging to Triplicane has been in the news in recent times. This place had as many as 88 Coronavirus positive persons and they were cured later are known. After this street attained zero positive case, the containment restrictions were lifted.

On Friday, 5th June 2020, a fresh Coronavirus positive case was reported from this street in Triplicane again. The data from the Chennai Corporation had highlighted about the 88 persons on the street getting affected with Coronavirus in a short time period. i

It was later explained by an officer belonging to the Chennai Corporation that the containment steps as well as medical care has cured all the Covid-19 persons and restrictions were lifted. He added that a fresh case has been reported from V.R. Pillai Street again. It is now said that a 27 year old policeman posted in the DGP office had tested positive for Coronavirus on Friday.

The official then spoke about how earlier 2 residents got the infection and how the street was announced as a containment zone. It must be taken into account that a volunteer who was helping the residents belonging to the containment zone had contracted the virus and others got affected from him. 

Fact is soon after the persons were cured and infection chain was broken V.R. Pillai Street’s containment strategy was implemented by the Chennai Corporation in other places in Chennai. The residents were asked to show the same discipline that was shown by the residents of V.R. Pillai Street in Triplicane.
