To help the class 10 students to collect their hall tickets for the upcoming public examination, Metropolitan Transport Corporation or MTC would operate special buses. This was announced by MTC on Sunday, 7th June 2020.
From 8th June till 13th June 2020, hall tickets for class 10 students would be issued. MTC would operate 110 buses in as many as 63 routes covering all parts of the Chennai city, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, and Chengalpet for collecting the hall tickets. This was as per the statement from the Chennai Corporation.
The statement also mentioned how the students would be able to travel in these MTC buses free to collect their hall tickets. It must be taken into account that this concession would not be applicable to the teachers. These buses would be exclusively for the students and teachers and others would not be allowed.
Stickers would be pasted on these MTC buses showing that they would be meant only for the School education department. These buses would start at 9 am in the morning and would be till 4 pm in the evening.
Important information collected is the students and teachers traveling in these special buses must maintain social distancing and must wear face masks compulsorily. Just 24 persons would be allowed to travel in these MTC buses. These buses have been asked to function with just 60 percent capacity and this as per the chief minister of TN. It was brought out by the statement that the students and teachers would have to get inside the bus through the back door and get down through the front door.
