100% lockdown, ration shops will not function, Rs.1000 will be given by house-to-house visits!

An announcement has been released that the ration shops will not function from 22nd June to 26th June in the areas of 100% lockdown conditions.

So, the relief of Rs. 1000 announced will be given to the ration card holder by house-to-house visits in the 4 districts where 100% of lockdown is imposed.

Thus, ration shops will not function for 5 days. So, information is gathered that the ration cardholders who had not bought their requirements may buy their requirements after 27th June.

The State Government of Tamil Nadu has announced that 100% lockdown conditions will be imposed in 4 districts - Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, and Chengalpattu - as a preventive measure against the spread of the raging coronavirus pandemic.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E. Palanswamy had announced that for the residents who reside in the containment zones in these 4 districts, Rs. 1000 will be given to the rice ration cardholders.

Further, the Chief Minister ordered that this Rs. 1000 must be given to the ration card holders by making a house-to-house visit by the ration shop staff from 22nd June. However, as a 100% lockdown was announced subsequently, the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Fair Price Shop All India Federation announced that it would not be possible for the ration shop staff to distribute Rs. 1000 by house-to-house visits n the containment zones.

The federation further informed that the ration shop staff will be ready for this task only if police support and the requite safety kits and equipment are given.

The federation further demanded that the residents living in other areas apart from containment zones must be informed by the State government to visit the ration shops to buy the required items.

Subsequently, the State Government Food Minister Kamaraj has announced that in the 4 districts where 100%lockdown is imposed, house-to-house visits will be made for the distribution of Rs. 1000 from 22nd June from 8.00 AM t 6.00 PM.

The money will be distributed by the relevant ration shop staff and the rations shops will remain closed from 22nd to 26th June in the above 4 districts.
