Quite coincidentally, the Public Examinations for the 12th Standard had concluded before the imposition of lockdown as a preventive measure against the spreading of the raging coronavirus pandemic.
However, due to the panic created by the coronavirus pandemic, 32 lakhs students could not write the last paper of the 12th Standard Public Examinations, scheduled on 24th March! Now, an opportunity has been given to the students to write the same.
Further, as the answer-sheets correction activity is in progress, the State Minister for School Education Sengottaiyan had announced that the results of the 12th Standard Public Examination would be released during the 1st week of July.
In this scenario, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has come up with a rather sensational announcement:
Rs. 107.1 Crores have been allotted by the State Government as an incentive payment at Rs. 2000/- each for the students who had completed 12th standard studying in the government or government-aided schools. Accordingly, the Tamil Nadu State Government Department of School Education has ordered that the above students may upload their Bank savings account details at the EMIS website.
