The evaluators have stated that the tough new syllabus would come in the way of the student’s scoring centums in the public examinations in major subjects in this year.

It is known that around 8.35 lakhs students appeared for the plus two public examinations in TN. There were about 4.5 lakhs students from science stream and more than 2.5 lakhs from the commerce stream who wrote their class 12 public examination in March. About 25,000 teachers took part in the correction of the answer sheets of these students. It was said that about 50lakhs answer sheets were evaluated by these teachers.

The tough new syllabus has been an issue for many plus two students and due to this many science stream students have not performed well in their public exams. This was as per some teachers who have evaluated the answer sheets. According to a teacher belonging to a government aided school from Chennai, no student has got more than 85% from the batch of question papers.

Important point is apart from the syllabus, the question paper was also very difficult this time. In the 5 marks category, most of the students did not attend all the questions. In the Physics subject, many got pass marks but the performance was below par. This was as per an evaluator who corrected the answer sheets of physics. The students have done poorly in subjects like Biology and Chemistry also.

The students have done well in the commerce and accountancy subjects as the question papers were little easier when compared to the science group.
