The Central Government has extended the time for filing Income Tax Returns for the Financial Year 2018-19 by a month, until 31st July.
In a similar vein, the Central Government has extended the time limit for linking the Aadhar and PAN cards.
For linking Aadhar-PAN cards, time extension has been given until 31st March 2021. This decision of the time extension has been taken primarily because of the raging coronavirus pandemic in the country for the last few months!
Earlier, the Central Government had announced the time extension for filing Income Returns for the Financial Year 2019-19as 30th November 2020.
As per the announcement released by the Central Government Direct Tax Board (CBDT – Central Board for Direct Taxes), the time extension for filing the income Tax Returns for the Financial year 2019-20 (AY 2019-20), is given until 31st July Time extension for filing the Income Tax Returns for the Financial Year 2019-20 has been given until 30th November 2020.
In order to provide some relief for the income-tax payers from the sector of the mini/micro/medium/small industry entrepreneurs, time extension has been given until 30th November for the self-assessed tax up to Rs. 1 Lakh.
.As per the Income Tax Act 1961, the self-assessed Income Tax may be paid in full until the above-mentioned dates.
It maybe noted that any delay in payment of Income Tax will entail interest the payment as per IT Act Section 234 A.
