The Central Government is planning to provide free treatment for those who are injured in road accidents.
This scheme is being taken up for earnest consideration with the view that timely treatment during accidents is very vital which may prevent loss of lives.
The Central Ministry of Road Transport has proposed a coverage/treatment fund of Rs. 2.50 Lakhs and has appointed the National Health Centre as an Integrated Commission functioning under the Prime Minister’s Jana Arogya Yojana.
Subsequently, the central ministry of road transport has also emphasized that the respective secretaries of the state governments must offer their suggestions/opinions regarding this proposal before 10th July!
