The Oil Corporations have announced another increase in the price of the non-subsidized LPG cooking gas cylinders for the 2nd successive month!
However, there has been one redeeming feature - the price has been increased by just Rs. 4/- and this varies from city to city.
Presently, 12 non-subsidized LPG cooking gas cylinders per year are supplied for the residences/domestic use by the oil corporations. In case additional cylinders are required, they have to be procured at the current market rates!
The Oil Corporations fix the price of the LPG cooking gas cylinder as per the International Crude Oil Prices and the exchange rate of the Indian Rupee against the US Dollar.
In this scenario, since last March, for the 3rd successive month when the price of the LPG cooking gas cylinder was down, it suddenly went up by Rs. 11 to Rs. 37 per cylinder last week!
Accordingly, Indian Oil Corporation increased the price of the non-subsidized 14 kg cooking gas cylinder by Rs. 37 and sold at Rs. 606.50 per cylinder.
This month, the Oil Corporations have announced an increase of Re. 1/- to Rs. 4/- per cylinder. In Chennai Metro City, the price of the subsidized LPG cooking gas cylinder has been increased by Rs. 4/- and sold at Rs. 610.50.
The Oil Corporations have announced that this price increase is effective from 1st July (Wednesday, today).
The non-subsidized LPG cooking gas cylinder has been increased in Delhi by Re. 1/- and sold at Rs. 594/- per cylinder. In Kolkata, it is increased by Rs. 4 and sold at Rs. 620.50 per cylinder. In Mumbai, it is up by Rs. 3.50 and sold at Rs. 594/-.
