This new 750 bedded Coronavirus diagnostic facility in Chennai has got the latest high tech equipments

On Tuesday, 7th July 2020, the chief minister of TN, Mr. E. Palaniswami inaugurated 750 bed high tech COVID diagnostic facility in Chennai. This facility would have equipment on par with those available in the well renowned AIIMS and JIPMER etc.

There would not be another intense lockdown in Chennai and this was as per the CM. By following the rules strictly, the Coronavirus infection could further decrease in Chennai. He made it clear that there was ‘no’ social transmission of the infection in the state of TN. 

He added that the recovery rate was 57.85% in TN. An amount of Rs 136.68 crores has been spent for setting up of this latest diagnostic facility at the premises of the National Institute of Ageing at the Kings Institute of Preventive Medicine complex in Guindy, Chennai.

For the sake of providing treatment, an expert panel has been set up and specialists have been deputed from other renowned hospitals. There are equipment like CT scan, ultrasound plus others like ventilators and WiFi etc in this new diagnostic facility in Guindy. There would be 100 doctors, 90 nurses and 100 other personnel at this facility.

It is said that the new facility would have 300 beds earmarked for intensive care and there would be other beds to treat Coronavirus patients with mild symptoms or moderate symptoms. 

Important information is in TN there are as many as 31,688 beds that are ready for occupation. As many as 13564 beds are present in Chennai and of these 7815 beds are in government hospitals and rest 5749 in private hospitals.
