Professor Gautam Sen is a Senior Consultant in Surgery, practicing General Surgery and Surgical Oncology for the past 40 years. He was the Head of the Department of Surgery at Grant Medical College, as Professor of Surgery, and is now Emeritus Professor of Surgery. Dr. Sen had the honor of serving as one of the 6-member board of governors for the Medical Council of India (India’s apex regulatory body). He has been Director of Surgical Education at the Association of Surgeons of India, President of the Association for Trauma Care of India, and founding Secretary and past Chairman of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Indian Chapter, and one of their Overseas Examiners.
