The State Government of Tamilnadu has announced the six-day workweek for its employees.
An order, issued by Principal Secretary Hans Raj Verma stated that all government employees should be in the office before 10.30 AM.
The Circular added:
“A report about the arrival of the employees should be submitted at the Employees and Administrative Reforms department every day”.
The Circular further informed that the decision has been taken to ensure the completion of pending files.
At this juncture, it is to be noted that many government offices were closed during the lockdown to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Though the offices were reopened recently, they functioned with less number of staff members.
As of now, the ‘unlock process’ has commenced and the government and other sectors are slowly getting back to regular operations.
