This piece of news would surely make many medical aspirants in the state of Tamil Nadu feel happy and positive regarding admission to MBBS course.
It was revealed by the state health minister Mr. C. Vijayabaskar that the 11 new medical colleges in TN would have as many as 1650 MBBS seats. On war footing, work to construct buildings for 11 new medical colleges has been taken up.
It is worth mentioning that the foundation stone has been laid and infrastructure is being created. When compared with 100 seats in the medical colleges in other states of India, each of the 11 new medical colleges in TN would have 150 seats. Fund amount of Rs 325 to Rs 350 crores for each college has been sanctioned by the TN government.
Regarding internal reservation of MBBS seats to the students of government schools, the health minister mentioned that the CM came out with the proposal of internal reservation by keeping in mind the welfare of the rural and government school students.
He later hinted that till now no reply has been received regarding CM letter seeking exemption from NEET this year. It is known that NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is conducted every year for admission to various medical courses in India.
