The central government has informed that the +2 marks will not be considered for admission to IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology).

The candidates finishing their school and pursuing admission in the leading technical institutes of IIT need to participate, write and pass the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) – and pass the same is mandatory. Further, the candidates must have scored above 75% in the +2 Public Examinations.

However, the central Minister for Human Welfare and Development, Ramesh Pokhriyal, has informed in his Twitter Page that this system has been changed!

He has mentioned that due to the prevailing lockdown situation where part of the +2 Public Examinations could not be conducted and hence the admission system for this year has been modified that only the performance n the JEE (advanced) will be taken for consideration for admission to the IITs.

He has also mentioned that instead of the marks obtained in the +2 Public Examinations, only the factor of a pass in the +2 Public Examinations has to be considered and the rules have been modified accordingly.
