Though there has been a recent reduction in this trend of the persons infected with coronavirus on the daily statistics, it is a matter for anxiety as the coronavirus spread has become more intense in other districts!
The total number of coronavirus-infected persons in the Chennai Metro City is 87235.
Following the record that on a single day yesterday (Monday, 20th July) when 1298 persons were confirmed with COVID virus, as on today (Tuesday, 21st July) morning, the number of persons affected with coronavirus and under treatment is 15127. This is 17% of the total number of affected. In other words, 70000 patients affected with coronavirus have been cured so far. This constitutes to be 81%. However, the death rate is 1.67% . So far, there have been 1456 loss of lives due to coronavirus.
Further, there is a system of marking containment zones where the pandemic is more intense – in this instance, the number of containment zones in the Chennai Metro City have come down to 81.
