ESIC increases the subsidy for pregnant women from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 7500!

Through an official government announcement, Employees’ State Insurance Corporation of India (ESIC) has decided to increase the subsidy given to them in case they are not in a position to get the concessions and maternity services from ESIC pharmacies. The subsidy amount, which was Rs. 500 until now, has been increased to Rs. 7500.

As per the present regulation of Act 56-A, in case of a woman employee or the wife of the male employee covered under insurance is entitles to receive a medical bonus payment of Rs. 5000. This is paid in case there are no facilities under ESIC. This has now been increased to Rs. 7500.

It is worthwhile noting in this instance that ESIC had agreed to increase this subsidy during the conference conducted in February.
