Uniform conduction of online classes is important and the TN state government has issued its own guidelines for the school online classes.
The School Education Department has issued an order and as per the order it was clear that the schools must adopt a proper time schedule with the availability of digital devices for the teachers.
Learner’s psychological as well as social factors such as accessibility to the gadgets plus parental support etc have been taken into consideration. The order mentioned that the head of the schools must conduct informal surveys for identifying various ICT facilities that are available at the homes for each student and then analyse the data.
The modalities of digital education must be prepared. Sitting on the table for e-learning has been mentioned by the TN government by using a picture. Strain on the eyes would be lessened by a short break from mobile phone or computer of 30 to 60 minutes.
Important online class timings:
Between each session, a break of 10 to 1 5 minutes would be given for the students. It was mentioned by the order that a teacher might take a maximum of 6 classes per day subject to 28 online classes per week. It is brought out that all electronic communication regarding assignments would be restricted from 8am to 6pm. Any malpractice on the internet etc must be reported to the teachers.
For the senior students to concentrate on the next class, a break of about 10 to 15 minutes would be given between 2 classes.
For the students belonging to classes 1 to 8 there would not be more than 2 sessions of 30 to 45 minutes per day. For the students of classes 9 to 12 there would not be more than 4sessins of 30 to 45 minutes. On all the working days, classes would take place between 9am to 5pm every day.
