For another 2 more days, Chennai would receive rains

Various parts belonging to the Chennai city received rains in the evening on Sunday and there was waterlogging on the roads. The rains brought down the temperature also. It is said that the impact of southwest monsoon plus wind convergence could be the reason for this rain yesterday in Chennai.

The news that has come out now is for the next 2 days, Chennai would get light rains and this was according to the meteorological department. Chennai had rains till late in the night and it received 2.8mm of rain. 

Beginning as a drizzle in the western and southern parts of Chennai around 7 pm in the evening, the intensity of the rains became more around 10 pm in the late evening. Suburban places plus central places in Chennai received more rain yesterday.

Chennai city’s important places like Meenambakkam and Nungambakkam received good rains and this was later confirmed by an official belonging to the meteorological department. 

Dense clouds were seen moving over Chennai from the north in the evening and moving towards the Bay of Bengal by late night. This has been brought to light by some live weather monitoring websites. At 10 pm in the late night, it rained less than 5mm in Nungambakkam and this was as per IMD forecast.

The condition of the sky is likely to be generally cloudy and there would be light rains in some areas in Chennai city. The maximum temperature would be around 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature would be around 27 degrees Celsius.
