Annual Grama Sabha Meeting on 15th August canceled: TN Gov Circular to Collectors

The State Government of Tamil Nadu has announced that the Grama Sabha Meeting scheduled on 15th August (Independence Day) is cancelled this year.
"Grama Sabha" meetings are routinely conducted 4 times in a year without fail. The 4 days are India’s historically important days: Republic Day (26th January), Labourers Day (1st May), Independence Day (15th August), and Gandhi Jayanthi (2nd October).
In this situation, for this year 2020, with the prevailing unabated spread of the raging coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdown imposition as a preventive action, the Director of the Tamil Nadu State Government Department of Rural Development has sent a circular to all the District Collectors, this "Grama Sabha Meeting" will not be conducted this year.
