Public display of Lord Vinayaga idols for the Vinayagar Chathurthi in TN

Vinayakar Chathurthi is round the corner and it is one of the important festivals in the state of TN and in India.

This time around, the Coronavirus pandemic has been creating issues and due to this the ruling AIADMK government has mentioned that there would be Vinayakar Chathurthi celebrations in public. The pressure has been mounting on AIADMK as there are just 3 more days left for Vinayakar Chathurthi.

The news now is the TN government is likely to give permission for Vinayagar Chathurthi idol installations through local police personnel and district collectors. 

At the Secretariat, there were few meetings held for the purpose of sorting out issues that might arise if the Vinayakar Chathurthi celebrations took place in the public. There has been interaction between the officials belonging to various departments with the organisers of Vinayagar Chathurthi celebrations.

Hindi Makkal Katchi president, Mr. Arjun Sampath, was of the view that the TN government would give permission for installation of the Lord Vinayaka idols. 

He explained about how the governments of states like Karnataka and Maharashtra have set examples by allowing Vinayagar Chathurthi celebrations in their respective states. He added that in TN social distancing norms would be followed as prescribed by the TN government.

Important information is installation of Lord Vinayagar in TN would just be for a day this time with n processions etc due to Coronavirus infection pandemic. Disposal of the Lord Ganesha idols by the government was also brought out.

According to Mr. Karu Nagarajan, BJP state general secretary, the BJP party has requested the CM of TN once again stating that all BJP and saffron outfits in TN would strictly adhere to social distancing norms.

On Monday evening, Mr. L. Murugan, TN BJP president, called on the CM of Tamil Nadu Mr. E. Palaniswami seeking permission for installing Lord Ganesha idols for this Vinayagar Chathurthi.
