Even after getting cured from Covid-19 infection totally, the patients are not guaranteed of good health now!!
The side effects of medication plus co-morbid conditions like BP, diabetes etc has been creating many health issues for many patients who have recovered from Coronavirus infection.
A Covid-19 follow-up clinic has been set up at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital or RGGGH in Chennai for these patients. This follow-up clinic was inaugurated by the state health minister Mr. C. Vijayabaskar.
Coronavirus infection recovered patients complain about issues like Issues of paralysis, heart issues, difficulty in breathing fatigue etc. This was according to the health officials. Therefore, follow-up clinics in RGGGH have been set up.
Different age groups people have different types of health issues as per co-morbidities and this was after the patients got recovered from Covid-19 infection. It was brought out by a senior doctor that the follow-up would also vary depending upon the health conditions of the patients.
Low immunity has been the culprit in many cases as patients die due to this issue even after testing negative for Coronavirus infection. There are few cases where the asymptomatic patients have developed hypoxia and have died. Truth is persons in the age groups 30 to 40 also develop lung disorders and respiratory issues etc.
As per Dr. G. Kadhiravan, HOD, accident and emergency department, Tagore Medical College, Chennai, follow-up is needed even for the asymptomatic patients who have been in the institutional quarantine or at home isolation etc and develop symptoms post discharge.
From Monday to Saturday, this follow-up clinic at RGGGH would function. This was mentioned by the state health minister. He explained about how patients with co-morbid conditions need follow-up. He threw light on the facilities such as lab testing, diagnostic services, counselling services, yoga etc that are available in the follow up clinic.
