The Department of Examinations of the State Government of Tami Nadu has ordered that corrections must be carried out in cases where there have been errors in the mark-sheet certificates issued for the 10th & +2 Pubic Examinations.

The Director of the State Examination Board has warned/cautioned that disciplinary action will be initiated on the concerned School Headmasters if the mark-sheet certificates are issued without carrying out the above-mentioned corrections in case.

As per the orders issued by the Director of the Tamil Nadu State Examination Board, Usharani, a circular on this issue has been sent to all the Headmasters of the Higher and Higher Secondary Schools. The circular mentions:

“A final opportunity is being given to undertake the corrections in case required on the list of names for the 10th Standard and +2 Public Examinations.

As such, if there are any corrections to be carried out in the temporary mark-sheet certificate given, the respective school headmasters must prepare a thorough list of what corrections to be carried out for which student class-wise based on the Registration Number of the student.

Subsequently, during the 6-day period from 24th August to 29th August, visiting the official website of the Tami Nadu State Examination Board and by using the given user-ID and password, get into the list of the students with particulars and carry out the required corrections in the fields of - the name of the student, if misspelt in English or Tamil, Initials, Date of Birth, Photograph, learning medium language, language subject, and the name of the schools.

In the list of students appearing for 10th Standard Public Examinations, corrections have to be carried out wherever required – say, the names of the parents of the student (in Tamil and English) and uploaded on the website by the respective headmasters.

In case the names of the parents of the students need to be changed in Tamil, the entire registered name must be removed first and the corrected name must be entered.

In case corrections are to be done on the name of the school, the section coating these details must be visited and corrections are to be undertaken then.

In case of clarifications required for the doubts if any while undertaking the correction of data, calls have to be made to the cell-phones of the respective coordinators specified for this purpose and located in the district.”

It may be noted that a letter in this issue of making corrections in the list names had been sent to the Primary Education Office – Office of the Assistant Director of the State Examination Board. The corrections referrered in this letter must now be carried out by the respective headmasters personally on the website as referred above.

Once the correction activities are completed by the respective headmasters, a copy of the details of this corrected data must be taken, signed by the respective headmaster and with the seal of the school, it must be handed over to the office of the District Assistant Director of the State Examination Board before 1st September.

This opportunity is given with due consideration of the students’ welfare and must be utilized – failing to use this and in case petitions are received later by this office regarding corrections to be carried out in the details of the mark-sheet certificates, immediate stringent disciplinary action will be initiated on the concerned headmasters.
