Rajan Eye Care, Chennai has joined hands with ChennaiVision Charitable Trust in the month of May 2020 and they have launched an initiative COVID Slum Relief Project. The main aim of this was to help the people during the pandemic.

It is superb to note that as a part of the initiative slum dwellers from many places like Giriappa Road, Kodambakkam Market, Kakan Colony, Gangaikaraipuram, T.P.Chatram, Taramani, Thoraipakkam and Besant Nagar were given rice, dal, medicines and hand sanitizers etc.

The eye camps conducted helped in identifying those who were affected badly. This was according to Dr. Mohan Rajan, chairman of Rajan Eye Care. Initially, groceries were provided to the people. Later, sanitary napkins etc were also provided to the girls.

He hinted that more people would be covered in the coming weeks. The initiative would cover 300 slums with 75000 families and this would be in the next 2 months.
