In the property sales registration procedure, a new facility of the land/house owner/seller providing the computer \ chitta’ (owner details) has been introduced under the ‘Digital India’ Plan.

Under the ‘Digital India’ Project, all activities and procedure in the government offices are being gradually computerised!

All the services required by the citizens are now available ‘onin3e’ – on the internet.

In Tamil Nadu, there is a regulation that without the ‘Chitta Adangal’ (document with details of the land/house under transaction), it is not possible to sell a property or getting the agriculture welfare assistance provided by the government.

In the state government of Tamil Nadu, the land-related documents are uploaded on the computer n 303 Taluks.

Further computerization of other procedures such as change of names in the Patta (Land Ownership Deed), registering/uploading the ‘Chitta’ details, and also the facility to get the related property location plan drawing.

In order to prevent the issues (legal) related to the land property, related cases in the court, and the various maloperations in vogue regarding the land sales, the system of making available ‘Chitta’ with photo through the computer has also been implemented successfully.

At present, this new technology has been successfully implemented after a trial in 3 Taluks in the state of Tamil Nadu.

The senior officials in the field measurement and survey shared: “With the implementation of computerization under the ‘Digital India’ Project, various related activities such as getting a copy of the land deed, the map of the land site, and change of name of ownership, etc., have become far simpler, easier, and quicker! An important related information/data are readily available through smartphones!

In order to prevent the maloperations of the wrong persons in the land registration deals (change of persons), the procedure of providing ‘Chitta’ with the land owner’s photo through the computer has also been implemented successfully. In the next phase, in the computerisation of the cases in which joint ownerships are being registered, the photos of the owners will be attached.”
