COVID results to be sent to the people by SMS in TN

On Sunday, TN health minister Mr. C. Vijayabaskar confirmed that in another 2 weeks the test reports of Covid-19 would be automated and sent through SMS.

After the Covid-19 review meeting that took place in Coimbatore, the state health minister expressed his views. He explained how in another 2 weeks the test results of Covid-19 would be automated and sent to the people by SMS. Now, the results are announced in 24 hours.

Nearly 400 Coronavirus cases have been reported for more than a week in Coimbatore district and the hospitals have been filling up fast. 

The recovery rate here is 78%. Aggressive testing that has played a huge role in containing the spread of Covid-19 in Chennai would be followed in the Coimbatore district also. The pandemic would be brought under control in Coimbatore in this manner.

In case of any eventuality, the district administration has been fully prepared and there are 5821 beds in Coimbatore district out of a total of 1.79 lakh beds in TN. 

The presence of co-morbid conditions like BP, diabetes has been responsible for the deaths and private hospitals must upgrade their facilities and not send critically ill patients to the government hospitals.

Plasma bank at a cost of Rs 25 lakhs was inaugurated by the ministers Mr. Vijayabaskar and Mr. S.P. Velumani at CMCH or Coimbatore Medical College and Hospitals. This plasma bank could provide convalescent therapy for infected persons. An artificial limb center was renovated at a cost of Rs 50 lakhs and the ministers inaugurated the center.
