For travelling long distances, people hire cars and they are finding it a bit expensive.

Recently, the TN government had eased e-pass issuance and now the people are having huge hopes that the TN government would soon resume buses and trains.

It must be noted that following stern opposition from the political parties and public the TN government eased the e-pass. It is known that the state government has extended the lockdown till 31st August with more relaxations.

The absence of public transportation has been responsible for the people not able to return back to Chennai from their native places in TN. It is worth recalling that after the lockdown was imposed on 24th March many from Chennai went to their natives.

Truth is the TN government has allowed the offices to function with 75% staff and industries and shops were coming back to normalcy slowly.  In the emergency situations, people have been finding it tough now with the absence of public transportation.

It was brought out by a person belonging to Coimbatore that he had spent Rs 16000 for the entire trip from his native to Vellore and back due to an emergency situation. A government employee from Tiruvallur was unhappy that he has to use his two-wheeler to travel from his place to his office in the absence of train services.

He explained about how the Coronavirus infection pandemic has turned his life upside down as he has been forced to travel by two-wheeler now from Tiruvallur to Chennai office.

He concluded that he had got back pain due to the long travel every day. Whenever the government gives permission the bus services would start and this was as per a senior officer belonging to the transport department. He added that the passengers would be asked to wear face masks and maintain social distancing in the buses.
