The State Minister for Higher Education of the State Government of Tamil Nadu, K. P. Anbazhagan, has informed that the final semester examinations may be conducted online as well.
With the status that the college examinations constrained to be cancelled due to the raging coronavirus, UGC (University Grants Commission) has categorically declared that the final semester examinations will definitely be conducted.
UGC has ordered that the examinations must be conducted throughout the country before 30th September.Meanwhile, the final semester examinations for the students in colleges functioning under universities under the jurisdiction of the state Government of the Department of Higher Education and Polytechnic will be conducted after 15th September.
Last Tuesday, the Tamil Nadu State Minister for Higher Education had informed that arrangements are being made in order for the students to personally come and write these final semester examinations.As such, the question was raised whether it is safe enough for the students in the prevailing situation of the spread of the raging coronavirus pandemic.
In this scenario, the Minister had a session with the press reporters in this regard and informed that the final semester examinations may be conducted online as well. He shared:
The final semester examinations for all universities/colleges will be conducted online as well. The respective Universities and Colleges can decide on their own whether to conduct examinations with students writing or to conduct online.
For the students residing in other states or countries, the final semester examinations will be conducted online. For other students, they will write the examinations personally. Examinations WILL NOT BE CONDUCTED IN COLLEGES WHICH HAVE BEEN FUNCTIONING AS QUARANTINE CAMPS! As such, other colleges may be fixed as centres.
