Southwest monsoon expected to start from today

By the end of Agni Nakshaktra Meteorological department officials have announced southwest monsoon expected over the Tamil Nadu, including Chennai from today.
Officials of the Meteorological department said that while the system that would contribute to the onset of the southwest monsoon was being monitored, the extension of clouding over Chennai and its neighbourhood was a sudden development.
Some coastal districts in northern Tamil Nadu have already received rains. Some more showers are expected from today over the northern Tamil Nadu, including Chennai.
