Deputy Director of the Regional Meteorological Centre at Chennai Dr. Y.E.A. Raj said, ‘As the southwest monsoon advances, we could get some rain here and there in Tamil Nadu. Kanyakumari, parts of Tirunelveli, Coimbatore and Ooty would get some rainfall… In all, the state has received a pre-monsoon seasonal total of 9 cm rains, compared to the normal 12 cm. The state would now have to wait for the southwest monsoon to get some good rainfall.’
