It may be recalled that during last week, the Madras High Court pulled up the Chennai Corporation for barricading houses of patients infected with coronavirus with tin sheets without any scientific evidence.
According to Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) officials, the houses of COVID-19 patients in the city ARE NOT BEING BLOCKED ANY MORE and the practice has been stopped for nearly a month now.
GCC Commissioner G Prakash was quoted as saying that only roads in containment zones will be blocked with tin sheets.

The court asked the chief of the city’s civic body to explain the rationale behind blocking the entrance of the houses.
