The Meteorological Department has informed that parts of north Tamil Nadu including Chennai will experience wet weather till Monday as thunderstorms are set to return over the region.
The Meteorological Department further mentioned that as the earlier depression has moved to the Arabian Sea off Maharashtra coast, some parts of the State particularly in the north, are likely to receive light to moderate rain.
The officials of the Meteorological Department shared: "For the next two days, districts, including Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Cuddalore, Vellore, Kallakurichi, Villupuram, Dharmapuri, Nagapattinam and Krishnagiri, are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall."
As regards the Chennai Metropolis, we can expect pre-monsoon spells as weathermen have forecast moderate showers accompanied by thunder and lightning over the city for the next two days, due to an atmospheric circulation.
According to N Puviarasan, director, Area Cyclone Warning Centre, IMD, several northern Tamilnadu districts such as Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Chengalpet, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore, Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, Ranipet, coastal district of Nagapattinam and eastern districts such as Dharmapuri, Salem and Krishnagiri are likely to receive light to moderate rain or thundershowers for the next 24 hours mainly due to upper air circulation and convective activity,
