Rains throughout the night (22nd) in Chennai Metro City!

Due to the depression zone formed over the Bay of Bengal, it rained throughout the Chennai |Metro City and its suburbs.

At around 4.00 PM yesterday (Thursday, 22nd October) evening, it rained heavily in several parts of the Chennai Metro City and its suburbs.  With the heavy rain lasting an hour, most of the city’s roads were flooded.

It started raining again by midnight and persisted until early morning today (Friday, 23rd October). While the day-session was quite hot, it was very pleasant weather in the night. It has rained very heavily in the suburban areas of Sholinganallur, Maanagaram, Aavadi, Madhavaram, and  Tambaram.

It rained heavily as well in Chingleput, Kanchipuram, and surroundings.

Further, as it rained quite heavily in Tindivanam, Mayilam, Irattanai in Villupuram District, the agriculturists were pleased.

In this situation, the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has announced that there are prospects for the depression formed over the Bay of Bengal to further intensify and transform into a very intense depression zone. Due to this, there are prospects for heavy rains in the northern districts of Tamil Nadu. Due to this, ‘No #1 storm warning’ boxes have been set up in the port areas of Nagappattinam, Cuddalore, Puducherry, and Pamban areas.
