When the theatres reopen on 10th November, the cinema goers would have to wait for longer duration for the shows to resume after the interval.
On Tuesday, 3rd November 2020, the SOP was released by the government of TN regarding the reopening of theatres. The release stated that the managements have to encourage the use of online tickets, e-wallets, and QR codes for selling the tickets plus for selling foods and beverages at the counters.
Throughout the show, the movie goers must wear facemasks compulsorily. It must be taken into note that the cinema goers would be able to eat only packed foods and snacks would not be served at their seats in the interval time.
New seating arrangement:
According to the new seating layout released by the TN government it is clear that the persons would be seated in every alternative seat inside the theatres. It was mentioned that the empty seats would be marked with tapes or with fluorescent markers.
Important piece of information is that the theatre staff and the visitors must download the Argoya Sethu app and the management staff must alert the health officers about visitors with cough and fever. The SOP released has also mentioned that such visitors with cough and fever would be quarantined in a separate room.
For letting the visitors enter and exit without crowding, enough time must be given between each show in the theatres. It is a must to maintain social distancing at the theatre premises.
To prevent crowding at the lobby, the show times and the intermissions of screens must be different in the multiplexes and to prevent crowds at the washrooms the duration of the intervals must be increased.
Point is that the halls must be disinfected after every show and those who engage in the cleaning process must wear safety gear without fail. The TN government had highlighted that the entire theatre complex like doors and staircases must be disinfected.
It is said that the shows must begin with the announcements about the importance of wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing plus the efforts taken by the government to contain Covid-19 spread etc.
