Prospects of the northeast monsoon rainy season to intensify!

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that the northeast monsoon rainy season will commence today (Wednesday, 4th November) and likely to intensify.

In a notification released by the Chennai Regional Meteorological Department, it is mentioned that with the onset and intensification of the northeast monsoon rainy season, the rains have become more severe in the states of Tamil |Nadu and Kerala.

Due to the cyclonic format developed in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the coastal southwest Bay of Bengal and the adjacent areas, there are prospects for widespread rains in the Chennai Metro City.

As there are prospects for heavy rains in Tamil |Nadu and Puducherry, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has given ‘Yellow Alert’.

Further, there are prospects for rains in the next 24 hours widespread in Tamil Nadu and Kerala and rain with thunder in a few places.

IMD has further warned that there are prospects for heavy rains in a few places in Tamil Nadu until 7th November and in Kerala until 6th November.

IMD has informed that a dry climate will persist in other parts of the country.

In this scenario, it has been raining in several areas including the Chennai Metro City. It has been raining in Marina, Nandanam, Mandavelli, Velacherry, and T Nagar.
