Many people have gone to their native places in Tamil Nadu for the deepavali festival to be with their families and relatives, friends etc. The STC or state transport corporations would operate as many as 16,026 buses to facilitate these to return back.
This would be for 4 days beginning from Sunday. It has been revealed that there would be as many as8026 special buses to Chennai city and to other places. It must be noted that STC would operate daily normal services of 2000 buses along with special buses to Chennai city and other places. This was as per the state transport corporation’s statement. For a time of 4 days, STC would operate 3416 special buses to Chennai city and 4610 special buses to other destinations.
From 11th November to 13th November, several lakhs people travelled from Chennai to other places in TN for Deepavali festival in 8753 buses.
From the 4 bus terminus including Madhavaram( bound for Uthukottai via Red Hills, Ponneri and Gummidipoondi), from K.K. Nagar(Pondicherry via ECR), Tambaram MEPZ(t places like Tindivanam, Vikravandi, Panruti and Kumbakonam) from Poonamallee (to places like Kancheepuram, Vellore, Arani, Arcot etc)and from Koyambedu (to places like Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Trichy, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Salem and Coimbatore).
