People who want to go to places like Tirupati, Kalahasti,Nellore, Chittoor etc through buses could feel happy now!!

From 25th of November, STC is planning to start inter-state buses to Andhra Pradesh. On Saturday, an order was passed by TN government allowing the operation of both private as well as public transport buses to AP without e-registration. It must be recalled that the interstate buses to AP have been stopped due to prevent Coronavirus infection spread.

It is important to mention that the CM of AP has requested to accord consent for the operation of inter-state services between TN and AP by respective state transport undertakings. This was per the provision of inter-state reciprocal agreement duly following the prescribed guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs from time to time. Information is that after careful consideration it was decided to allow operation of bus services from 25th November.

From 1st November, the TN government has allowed the operation of buses to Puducherry and from 16h November to Karnataka is well known to us. Point is that more than 150 buses would be operated to places in AP such as Tirupati, Nellore, Chittoor and Kalahasti etc and this was as per the sources belonging to STC. The sources added that following the permission of the government of TN, STC would run more than 150 buses from Chennai to Tirupati, Kalahasti and Nellore from 25th November.

It was later brought out by an officer belonging to APSRTC that in the initial stage, it would operate 60 buses to TN from various destinations in the state. Truth is that as many as274 buses were operated before the Covid-19 pandemic began. From AP, the buses would be operated to places like Chennai, Kancheepuram, Vellore and Puducherry and most of the buses would be to Chennai.
