Due to the expected storm Nivar, Red Alert has been issued to 10 districts in the State of Tamil Nadu.
The 1st storm of this year’s northeast monsoon rainy season is about to occur as the low-pressure zone formed will intensify into a depression zone on 25th November and then into a storm in the next24 hours. This storm, formed over the Ba of Bengal, has been named ‘Nivar’.
‘Red Alert’ for 10 districts!
In this situation, a ‘Red Alert’ has been issued to 10 districts in the State of |Tamil Nadu. Further, the National |Rescue Force has been cautioned and asked to be ready in 10 districts.
Heavy Rains
As the storm ‘Nivar’ is set to cross the coast between the borders of the Tamil Nadu State and Puducherry, there are prospects for heavy rains today (Monday, 23rd November) in the districts of Thanjavur, Nagappattinam, and Thiruvarur.
Similarly, the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has informed that there are prospects for very heavy rains in the delta districts tomorrow (Tuesday, 24th November), Pudhukkottai, Cuddalore, Ariyalur, and Perambalur.
