Train services on 24th and 25th November to be disrupted due to cyclone Nivar

In view of cyclone Nivar, the Southern Railways or SR has announced the cancellation of 2 trains plus on 24th November and on 25th November. On these 2 days, there would be cancellation of some trains also.

From Tuesday, 24th November, Chennai-Egmore-Thanjavur-Chennai Egmore special train was fully cancelled for 2 days. This was brought out by a release from the SR. On 25th of November, the Chennai-Egmore-Trichy- Chennai Egmore special was fully cancelled on 25th November. It is well known that cyclone Nivar would make a landfall on this day. It is now said that the trains commencing journey tomorrow would be cancelled partially. 

Point is that the Mysore-Mayiladuthurai special train would be partially cancelled between Trichy and Mayiladuthurai. Another train Ernakulam- Karaikal special partially cancelled between Trichy and Karakial. Information gathered is Bhubaneswar- Puducherry special would be partially cancelled Chennai Egmore and Puducherry.

On 25th of November, the trains that are partially cancelled are Mayiladuthurai- Mysore Special partially cancelled between Mayiladuthurai and Trichy, Karaikal –Ernakulam Special partially cancelled between Karaikal and Trichy, Coimbatore- Mayiladuthurai Jan Shatabdi Special cancelled partially between Trichy and Mayiladuthurai, Mayiladuthurai- Coimbatore jan Shatabdi Special partially cancelled between Mayiladuthurai and Trichy.

Trains like Puducherry- Bhubaneswar Special would be partially cancelled between Puducherry and Chennai Egmore and Puducherry- Howrah Superfast Special partially between Puducherry and Villupuram. It is worthy to note that a full refund amount would be given for fully cancelled trains and automatic refund would be granted for e-ticket holders. 

There are many people who would have got their tickets at the railway counters and it is mentioned that these persons would get refund from the counters by surrendering their tickets within 15 days of scheduled departure of trains as against the regular norm of 3 days. It is known that SR is the earliest of 18 zones of Indian Railways that was created in independent India.
